The history of Alchimex began in 1998 when some people with experience in the field of plant protection industry established the first Romanian private capital company with the activity of plant protection products and foliar fertilizers.
We started with a small capacity plant for fungicides and insecticides in the form of wettable powders.
In just two years, we were able to put into operation two other facilities for the formulation of liquid products, and in 2002 we inaugurated a new plant for fungicidal and insecticidal formulation in the form of suspension concentrates, the capacity of which was doubled in 2009.
At the end of 2013, the total investment in production capacities exceeded € 5.5 million.
We are currently enjoying the performance of a team of 50 specialists, endowed with an innovative vision and team spirit, channeling their efforts to meet the most demanding customer requirements.
Product quality, team performance and state-of-the-art technologies have made Alchimex the largest producer on this market in Romania. Since November 2011, Alchimex has as shareholder the prestigious Japanese group Sumitomo Corporation, which has taken over 90% of the shares of our major shareholder - Alcedo company, the largest national plant protection product distributor - an investment that has shown that the two companies have passed successfully the Japanese rigor test.
